Our company often receives requests for quotations from customers for LED strips, but due to unfamiliarity with LED strip specification terms, we often need to explain to customers for half a day in order for them to understand. In response to this phenomenon, the following LED strip commonly used 6 kinds of specifications terminology to explain and share, but also for the reference of buyers:.


First, LED size: 0603, 0805, 1210, 5050 is the size of the light-emitting components used on the LED strip ----LED (imperial / metric), the following is a detailed description of these specifications.
0603: converted to metric system is 1005, that is, the length of the LED components is 1.0mm, width is 0.5mm. industry referred to as 1005, the imperial system is called 0603.
0805: converted to metric system is 2125, that is, the length of LED components is 2.0mm, the width is 1.25mm. industry abbreviation is 2125, the imperial system is called 0805.
1210: converted to metric system is 3528, that is, the length of the LED components is 3.5mm, the width is 2.8mm. industry abbreviation is 3528, the imperial system is called 1210.

5050: This is the metric system called, that is, the length of the LED components is 5.0mm, the width is 5.0mm. industry abbreviation 5050.


Second, the number of LED lights: 15 lights, 30 lights, 60 lights refers to the LED strip per meter length of how many LED components welded, generally speaking, 1210 specification strip is 60 LEDs per meter, 5050 specification strip is 30 LEDs per meter, special 60 LEDs per meter. different LED number of LED strip price is different, which is also to distinguish the price of LED strip. An important factor.


Third, the color temperature: refers to a standard black body heated, the temperature rises to a certain level when the color begins to change from deep red - light red - orange - white - blue, gradually, a light source and the color of the black body is the same, we will be the absolute temperature of the black body at the time called the color temperature of the light source.
Generally speaking, the color temperature is not used as an indicator to assess the LED strip, but many foreign customers because of the use of environmental relations, will do a special request.
Light source color temperature is different, the light color is also different.
- Color temperature below 3300K, the light color is red to give a warm feeling; there is a stable atmosphere, warm feeling. It is commonly known as warm color temperature.
- Color temperature in the middle of 3000 - 6000K, people in this hue is not particularly obvious visual psychological effect, there is a crisp feeling; so called "neutral" color temperature

- Color temperature of more than 6000K, light blue, giving people a sense of cool, commonly known as cold color temperature.


Fourth, the brightness: cd (candela)
The basic unit of luminous intensity, candela is one of the basic units of the international system of units.

General LED strip different colors will have different luminous intensity, commonly used unit is mcd, that is, milli-candela. The higher the value, the greater the luminous intensity, that is, the brighter. This is an important indicator to assess the brightness of the LED strip, the higher the brightness requirements of the more expensive the strip. This is because the price of high-brightness LED chip is expensive, and the higher the brightness, the more difficult the package.


Five, luminous angle.

This refers to the LED strip LED components on the luminous angle, the general SMD LED, that is, the SMD components of the luminous angle is 120 degrees. The larger the luminous angle, the better the effect of light diffusion, but relatively, its luminous brightness will be reduced accordingly. Luminous angle is small, the intensity of light is up, but the irradiation range will be reduced. Therefore, another important indicator to assess the LED strip is the luminous angle. Now there are some bad manufacturers on the market, in order to improve the luminous brightness to earn higher profits, deliberately reduce the luminous angle, a little carelessness, you will buy such a second-best components.


Sixth, the voltage: this refers to the input voltage of the LED strip, generally commonly used specifications is DC 12V, but also 24V.
